Lacks detail and descriptions
The guide lacks detailed descriptions of the suanas. The author/editor could have culled descriptions for at least ONE of the baths in each major city, instead the listing includes address, phone number, website and a key showing pictograms of what is offered in terms of steamroom, video room, showers, etc.While that is fine it leaves out a lot that should be included about each facility (cleanliness, facilities highlights, types of patrons, etc., etc.) Sometimes a brief sentence tells of pricing or notes that the facilities gives free condoms. The guide does not help you decide which place to visit in a foreign town.Further the listings seem spotty, I can only speak for California when I say that popular venues were left out. Just So-so for my needs
This is a great resource if you're travelling in Europe, the United States and most anywhere in the Western World, but it is woefully inadequate in its treatment of Latin America.I mean, come on, no listings for Venezuela?And the most popular sauna in San Jose is missing completely.If you're cruising for Latin meat south of the border, look for your information elsewhere.

Sexy guys on the cover
I bought this book for the sexy guys on the cover. They are really cute. I thought I would find a sauna with these guys in it. I didn't. However the book does tell you where you can go (...) You will have to travel though, as I found out India has no gay saunas.Read more

This was a great book.
Gay people don't complain when they read straight books, nor do straight people label there books like: "The Straight Guide to Amsterdam" The book was fine. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Im glad I did research on the book first before I bought it :)

Practically worthless
Oh, so chatty and friendly, everything this guide mentions, profiles, or reviews is simply F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.To read this book is to think that every gay spot in New York is just shy of heaven.Even the biggest dive receives rave reviews.While giving high marks to everything and supposedly being "the authoritative guide to gay & lesbian NYC," it fails to know about new hot spots (particularly in the burgeoning Hell's Kitchen neighborhood).Good for addresses of places only.

Both practical *and* fun
Aldous Huxley wrote, "For every great traveler who has any taste of his own, the only useful guidebook will be the one which he himself has written." That said, the editor has created a tremendously useful and compact volume that is much like what I would have written, were I able to visit all these places.Read more

The best available gay guide to Cologne
Bruno Gm�nder Verlag has published gay travel guides to German cities for quite some time now, and their experience shows. This book (K�ln von Hinten, or 'Cologne From Behind') is an excellent guide for gay men to not only Cologne, but also D�sseldorf, Essen, Bonn, and other cities in North Rhine-Westphalia. There is also some information for lesbians here, but the emphasis is definitely on gay men. If you've never been to Cologne, it's perhaps the gay cultural center of Germany, and is a great place to spend a couple of days; the men are handsome and friendly, accomodations are reasonable, and there's a lot to see during the day (the Museum Ludwig for example).
