Partially interesting
This is effectively the manifesto of Gay Men Fighting AIDS, a London-based group consisting of gay men, umm, fighting HIV/Aids in the gay community. Insiteful, Informative. Love it!
I found this book to very informative and insightful. However I thought that some of the dialougue was hokey. This tells you pretty much everything you probably already know, but there are a few extras that I didnt know and it helps. Fun & helpful...what more could we ask?
This book was exactly what my partner and I needed to help us to overcome our tendency to stay in a comfortable rut.Our long-term relationship was harmonious, but it lacked emotional intimacy.Over time, I believe this led to a deadening of our eroticism as well.Playfully sharing our responses to the exercises in this book offered us the opportunity to get to know each other in new, deeper ways, helping us to move beyond our anxieties about authenticity.The result has been exciting, validating, and very much worth the journey which has led us into passion we've never known together.

Not what I expected, but still worthwhile.
My first disappointment with the book came when I realized that instead of focusing on creating intimacy generally, as the reviews and description led me to believe, the book is actually a guide to increasing sexual intimacy. I did decide to keep the book and found that the exercises are good forhelping partners or individuals to clarify their sexual attitudes andexplore their comfort zones.The book would be more helpful if moreinformation were included; the format consists of short (1-2 page)introductions to the exercises and checklists of varying lengths.In somecases, however, it's unclear exactly what is meant by some of the items thereader is asked to check or leave unchecked, and it seems that a morefleshed out explanation would help most people.Because the exercises arethought exercises, they can't rely on physical experience to help makeclear the goals of each.On the positive side, the book could be anon-threatening first step toward opening sexual communication betweenpartners.I would recommend it to couples who find that they have sexualdissatisfactions they are uncomfortable discussing or unable to discuss ina productive way.The exercises are fairly basic, though, and for coupleswho are more practiced in communicating, they may not be as helpful. ... Schindler Knows What He's Talking About
As an activist for the erotic liberation of my fellow men I found William Schindler's new book Gay Tantra particularly fascinating. One thing I've long been aware of is that in the Western World we misuse the term Tantra to mean any kind of enhancement of sexual pleasure through prolonged or nonejaculatory practices. So it's refreshing to read this book that explores the authentic meaning of the term. It actually indicates a wide range of techniques both ascetic and ecstatic for training the senses toward heightened spiritual awareness. Great book for gay partners!
All that I can say is "wow!"This book worked wonders on my sex life.It helped me to feel sensations that I never thought were possible.A must buy for all sensual gay couples in an exploration stage.

When there was only one
Back in the seventies, it was still a very risky proposition to attempt a gay publication of any sort. But in the California Seventies, books like "Song Of The Loon" (from the sixties) and eventually the likes of "Tales of The City" began breaking down the barriers, allowing homosexual men to be presented not as crazy or unstable, but as regular people in love. Larry Townsend went even farther out on a limb. He sat down in 1972 and spelled out, for the first time in book form, the codes of conduct that the underground Leather Scene and S&M men lived by. There were also several accounts of steamy real life kink encounters.
