5-0 out of 5 stars MYSTERY BRUISE
A collection of deep insight. The poetry in this book is riviting.Upon reading it I felt that I delved into the spirit of the author, felt the pain of her relationships and experienced life through her eyes--both thedesire to love and be loved. Balanced with a good sense of humor, herpoetry deals with issues that we as a culture do not openly express andthat is why it is so valuable. After reading this book, I realized thepower poetry has in the world, it changed me spiritually and now I savorthe images and meditate on the insights.A must for raising one'sconsciousness! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars BestAmerican poet since Gary Snyder
I found this book in a garbage heap behind the Georgetown University library. I started reading it and was totally blown away. After two years, I still carry it around and read it on the DC Metro. Perhaps I love it so much because Daly's just as screwed up as I am. What kind of feeling do I get from reading his poetry? I'd compare it the prose of Henry Miller or the lyrics and music of John Prine. If Bob Dylan actually wrote poetry (as opposed to song lyrics - big difference), his poems would be like Daly's. If I were shipwrecked on a desert island with two books of poetry, I'd want one of Gary Snyder's collections and this small masterpiece.

5-0 out of 5 stars The passion of the poetry
His poetry grabs you where you need to be grabbed! I am looking forward to his next book! This man writes poetry "like a polluted river flowing." Read all about it (the human condition) in the Daly Poetry Papers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Haunting Poetry
Merrin's collection of poetry is one that makes the reader stop after every 1-2 poems to think about life in a new way.Through her modern free-verse poetry, Merrin explores relationships with family, love, place, and herself, shedding a different light on each of these subjects.Definitely a book worth reading! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars distressing, beautiful, and direly necessary
A former zookeeper, Pam Ore's poetry is a lyrical, soul-piercing examination of the way language shapes our often heartless behavior towards the environment.Ore shares with the reader her fierce drive to reconcile her identity as a poet-a human being with a special mastery of language-with her shared culpability with the mistreatment and extinctions of other animal species.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun,Sexy,Smart and a great Traveling Companion
This is a really 'hip' little book. I love it because it is hot and smart and above all, it is not corny! The cover is great, the writing excellent and the graphics inside are fun and clever. This is the book you shouldkeep in your pocket for reference.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I loved this little book.It was different, fun and sexy in a clever and playful way. It is different than the usual fare.I highly recommend it!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This book was very disappointing to me because I was expecting something substantial and this is just a tiny little book of really short poems. If you want a novelty book this is it but I was expecting fiction, not poetry. ... Read more
