5-0 out of 5 stars On my top 3 list
This book was an inspiring book. It was dark, romantic, compelling, and treacherous. Actually, both the book and the characters were. The plot is brilliant though more of the book is focused on the sizzling and soulful romance than the plot itself. Nevertheless, the plot gets enough light shed on it for you to wonder what's going to happen not only to the relationship but to the beautiful protaganists. You'll love this book and the characters in it from beginning to end.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing
There aren't words to explain how good this book is.Bowers delivers a basic Uber Xena and Gabrielle story in asurprisingly eloquent and original way.Of course, there is the dark, raven-haired and blue-eyed character with a dangerous past (Jude).Of course, there is the light, blonde-haired and green-eyed character who sees the good in everyone (Liz).Of course, they meet and immediately fall for one another. But this book is so much more. This is certainly one of the best books I've read in this genre.Where has Bowers been since1999?

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent plot, good writing, and mostly realistic
I loved this book! It drew me in from the first page. I love both of the main characters (Jude and Elizabeth), who seem well-matched. Both are given some depth and not made to seem like caricatures, which sometimes happens in Xena uber-fiction.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Romance set in Philadelphia
You will love the characters (some are quite fascinating). I particularly like Michael (very composed and believable). I couldn't get enough of the characters back story.
5-0 out of 5 stars Radclyffe...kudos again
I think the evolving relationship between Michael and Sloan is heart-warming.I've read this book several time because it makes me feel good.
5-0 out of 5 stars Romance at its Best
A Matter of Trust by Radclyffe has been re-released as a 2nd edition, and it was just as much fun reading it the second time as it was the first. True to her style, Radclyffe has written a sexy, powerful love story filled with angst, discovery and passion. Quite simply, she seduces the reader with her prose, only freeing us after we have read the final pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!
I could not put this book down. The characters were well developed and believeable which is not always the case. I would recommend that you purchase the sequal (Daredeveil Hearts)with this book. I stayed up late one night to finish the book and when I came to the end I was left hanging. I ordered the squal the very next morning!

5-0 out of 5 stars Getting lost in Lost Paradise
Kristina and Nicole...meant for each other in every way. This book tells he story of love lost and found, with a surprising ending. You'll find yourself lost in the characters, lost in the story and lost in the love.Do yourself a favor and get lost in Lost Paradise.

5-0 out of 5 stars Be prepared to read the sequel
Don't read this book unless you're prepared to read the sequel. As the title says, this is Part I and the story isn't finished.Once you read this book though, you'll want to read the next installment. The book is about Kris, a world famous stuntwoman, and Nicole, who is working as a gopher on a picture Nicole's uncle is helping to direct.Nicole is kind, bubbly and willing to help everybody, which is why the quiet, withdrawn Kris is drawn to her.Nicole has a dark secret in her private life though and it threatens any happiness she might have with Kris. The book is well written and draws you in with the characters. The ending definitely leaves you hanging though as you wonder if these two lovers can ever work things out.The author has a web site where she has posted several stories about these two.If you like the book, and you will, you might want to check out the site. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
I had a small bout of interest when I began this book, but once I got into it, I couldn't lay it down.
5-0 out of 5 stars Stays the Course
Carolyn Black, an actress nearly past her prime according to Hollywood standards, is ruthless in going after what she wants. And, in this book, she wants the role of Maddox in a trilogy of films. No one else is as confident as she that she is right for the role, including the publisher of the books and producer of the films, Annelie Peterson. This is the story of Black's manipulations to get the role.
1-0 out of 5 stars boring and slow
I read the other reviews and expected a compelling story, but instead found a book where the character were not sufficiently developed so that you don't really care one way or the other what happens. The book follows the two main characters through a series of events that seem to have no real connection or consequence to the story. The relationship is contrived and the connection between the main characters is superficial at best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet and funny love story - better than the 1st in the series!
The first book about these characters, Hidden Feelings, was enjoyable but a little rough; it took a little while for the story to really get going. But I enjoyed the first book enough and was curious enough to know what happened to the characters, that I ordered Unbidden Desires.I'm glad that I did.Where Hidden Feelings was a little slow in the beginning, Unbidden Desires takes off at a run!You are immediately drawn into Lori and Julie's story in Unbidden Desires. The author's writting has deepened tremendously from her debut novel and she makes the characters really come alive this time. This was a case where I enjoyed the sequel more than the original.Julie's character grows and matures in this story and her personality seems to come alive before our eyes. 4-0 out of 5 stars There is a lot to identify with in this
Unbidden Desires is a continuation of the story Donna Kelli began in her first book Hidden Feelings. It is the story of two teenagers who are trying to understand their feelings for each other and decide what they want their roles in each other's lives to be.Lori Hunter and Julie Conners have known of each other much of their lives and attend the same high school, but they don't travel in the same circles, so their contact has been limited. It isn't until the girls end up as counselors at the same summer camp that they come to know each other, first as friends and then, startling them both, as lovers. As the girls try to understand what is happening between them, Lori saves Julie from a male counselor and a near-rape; then the camp closes and the girls return home with nothing settled between them. This is the setup for the story that takes place in Hidden Feelings.

5-0 out of 5 stars Haunted
This book hit many levels for me, and has value in many ways.First off, it is beautifully written. The writer and translater has a knowledge of language that quickly becomes poetry.Secondly, this erotica is truly original. As an author myself, I am blown away with the courage it took to write this story, which breaks many rules that commercial books seem to follow.I found a sexuality here that I can so strangely identify with, and that I haven't yet found in another book.In many ways, it is intensely pure, and not naughty at all.In fact, I think this book is shortchanged if one called it simple "an erotic novel," because the sex is a psychological feast as well as physical. And thirdly, I must add that the story itself is on my top list of favorites now.
4-0 out of 5 stars Distinguished Writing
The story suffers from a contrived ending, but the writing is so fresh and evocative, the characters so deftly drawn, that the book is a pleasure to read just the same.

5-0 out of 5 stars Insatiable erotica!
It appears that the Spaniards, like the French, are excellent at writing erotica that is both insatiable and literary. Vicente Munoz Puelle's The Arch of Desire introduced me to the aforementioned brand of erotica, and in turn helped me discover Your Name Written on Water. This beautiful novel centers on eroticism mixed with narcissism.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars What came first?
I gave this book 2 stars more out of nostalgia then anything. It is chalk full of florally pros that border on the boring. I am not sure what came first the movie or the book however I found both of them to be severely lacking. The characters are hard to like especially Claire and by the end of the book I didn't much care if they got together or not.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good movie, better book
If you enjoyed the movie, you're going to like the book better. There was a lot to the story that Conn was forced to edit out of the movie to shorten the running time.Once you read the book, you wish that Conn could have afforded to keep the movie the length she intended. The book also explains some things that seem disjointed in the movie.Claire's struggle to decide what exactly it is she wants in her life is interesting.Noel's reluctance to get involved with a "straight" woman is understandable. The story isn't as much about seduction as it it inevitability. It would be nice to have a follow up to see how this pair ended up later.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding
This book is my favorite lesbian novel.Nicole Conn tells this story well.If you're a romantic at heart, you'll love this story. The movie is a must see. It's not for everyone, but I think it is well worth it. ... Read more

Meghan O'Brien has outdone herself with `The Three.'There is no middle ground here.Readers will either love it or hate it.This reader thinks it's phenomenal. 5-0 out of 5 stars Adventurous and Erotic Combination is powerful
In the The Three by Meghan O'Brien we are treated to first-rate storytelling that features scorching love scenes with three main characters. While the publisher lists this book as an adventure, it is the mix with eroticism that completes this remarkable story.

This is the first book I have read from Robin Alexander and I look forward to reading more!I really enjoy this book.It was an easy read.Jamie is just a sweetheart and Eden...you will fall in love with her. This book had romance, adventure, humor, and who could leave out the sex! Not to mention a couple of twists thrown into the mix. This is a well rounded book that is just a pleasure to read. It will stay in my collection!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dramatic and sexy thriller
This novel is a real delight and like no other I have read in recent memory. The characters that populate it are wonderfully endearing and unique, they are fully fleshed out and become very real to the reader.I especially liked Donald and his brother Paul.

Editorial Review

Let me be the first to state plainly that Miss Mabel Maney is a pernicious influence on American boys and girls. Her dangerous spoofs of the 1950s surely threaten the morale of impressionable young people, who must learn to accept and appreciate their proper places in life. Nancy Clue, the famous girl detective, may be able to solve exciting mysteries without displacing her shiny Titian locks, but why does her friend Midge dress like a boy, use curse words, and smoke cigarettes? And why does Nancy's sweet new girlfriend, Cherry Aimless, tremble under her starched white nurse's cap as she admires the bulging biceps of police detective Jackie Jones? I suspect that in her private life, the author freely mixes plaids with stripes and wears white after Labor Day. As for her devilish success at demeaning the finest epoch in American manners, I can only say, "Darn and double darn." Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Dressed for Adventure
I laughed all the way through this hilarous romp. It reads like a road-trip combined with a fashion show, with endless high camp descriptions of all types of frock, sundress, and blouse. Just when you think you're finally dressed and good to go, she throws in another one!4-0 out of 5 stars Giggled all the way through
I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a really great, campy book. Nancy is niaive in many ways, and I had to laugh at some of the assumptions she made. It kinda makes me think of Leagally Blonde with her rose-coloured glasses, but definately not as annoying.4-0 out of 5 stars campy

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything Old is New Again
This is an old novel, first in print in 1987.Which would make it one of the first of a new genre, lesbian romance fiction. After almost twenty years, it stands the test of time, and is still one of the very best written in this category.
5-0 out of 5 stars This book is so real it comes alive
When I read the first chapter of this book at a half price bookstore I had to have it.This book is so real, it's unbelievable. It's the story of a woman (Bobby) discovering herself through relationships (with women). It's the kind of book that can make you lost when you are done because you don't know what to do without those characters in your life!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, touching, hilarious
I carried this book around in my purse for weeks after I finished it simply because I could not let it go. I think I have read it cover to cover at least 3 times and every single time I would sit there nodding up anddown at certain parts. I mean Ms. Cotrell gets it EXACTLY right. Jane Fletcher has got a great series going.I'm not much into Sci-Fi, but I am enjoying Fletcher's series.
5-0 out of 5 stars For Lovers of Lesbian Sci-Fi/Fantasy
I search and search for really engaging, interesting and WELL WRITTEN lesbian novels especially sci-fi/fantasy.Good ones are extremly hard to come by.This novel does it and does it so well that I found myself easily captivated and drawn into Natasha's world.Jane has created a world that is belivable and well thought out.The characters are well developed and are neither good nor bad but have different sets of beliefs that they live, and sometimes, die by.I found myself beliving that people could and would act a certain way because of what they happened to believe.I won't go to much into the plot others here have already done so and you can read them should you wish to... I won't spoil it for you.
5-0 out of 5 stars Award winning
With Jane Fletcher's mesmerizing stories, The Walls of Westernfort (winner of the 2005 Golden Crown Literary Awards- Sci-Fi/Fantasy) and Rangers at Roadsend, the first two books in her Celaeno Series, she has converted this reader into a sci fi lover. Each book takes us into a magical world fraught with danger and full of moral dilemmas.

While this book and its sequel "First Lady" may not be filled with the drama or edginess of TV's "The West Wing"; it does have romance that is set against the backdrop of the White House and the difficulty the demands of presidental responsibility and media attention place upon a relationship.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK, but not McNab's best
Murder at Random is very topical and starts out with an interesting story.A radical group called Righteous Scourge has advertised on its web site that it will pay people to commit acts of terrorism throughout Australia. The worse the act is, the more money the terrorist will be paid. When the attacks begin and an investigative reporter who was going to turn over information to the government is killed in a mysterious accident, Agent Denise Cleever is sent undercover to infiltrate a newspaper that seems to be getting inside information on the events before the government agencies are. While investigating the newspaper, Denise discovers that there are ties between the terrorists, the newspaper and a religious cult called Supremity. The three appear to be working together to bring down the government and insure that politicians under Supremity's control rise to power.Denise encounters distractions that could threaten her ability to do the job - a past lover who is still under suspicion for committing treason, a possibility of a new love interest and an estranged brother who suddenly reappears in her life. When she learns that the leader of Supremity wants to "gather" her into the group, she can't be sure if it means that she has finally won the trust of the inner circle or if her cover has been blown and she's being set up for an "accident" of her own.
