5-0 out of 5 stars Yum! Science fiction!
I loved this book! I did, do, did! I think I will probably be rereading this one. Correction: I think I will be bopping off to the store with a gift certificate I found and buying the first book. I love it. I'm a huge science fiction fan. And this has just enough to make me happy. It also has a character who reads almost closely like a librarian to me. And I love library type stuff, information architechture and organization. I like strong women. Okay and bad me, I like the conclusion regarding population decline, male infertility and female empowerment. I have a lot of male friends on-line and I don't have a problem with men but given the current political climate in the United States, it is nice to read something that well... subversively like the Da Vinci Code, could have elements of truth and explain things like why some religious zealots want to tell me what I can do with my female body. But that said, that aside, I like it!

4-0 out of 5 stars IF you loved the first one, read this sequel :)
To keep it pretty short and to the point, I'd say that if you loved "Daughters of a Coral Dawn," then you should read "Daughters of an Amber Noon."The sequel - as is so often the case - is not as good as the original ... but it's not bad, either, and if you finished Coral Dawn wanting to know what happens next, you should check this one out. :)2-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Coral Dawn - perfunctory and unrefined
To the reader who said it wasn't lesbian enough...Huh?Let's see... All the men were evil, completely bereft of any redeeming morality. When they weren't killing and torturing innocents, they were abusing women. All the men hated women. All men were murderers and rapists, and the only man they followed was the one who was more of a murderer than they are.The men who didn't follow him were actually even MORE misogynist than Zed.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that impressed with so few pages.
If I had no other books from SQP I think I would rate this a 2, or 3 so that's what I'll review it as. Usually with SQP books like this you get a collection of detailed pencil drawings of half clothed women, monsters, fem pirates and so on. This book is a bit different. There is a sketch (very rough) on the first page, and it's painted, and complete on the second. It's 48 pages total so if you buy these books to scope for pencil drawing reference your only getting half a book, and the pencils in this volume are at a very early stage at best. If you buy for the painting I've seen both better, and worse.
3-0 out of 5 stars Mostly Art
This book is described as, "An erotic series of stories, each accompanied by a steamy full color painting, this first volume of lesbian friction is sure to raise more than eyebrows!"Well, only part of that description is true.
5-0 out of 5 stars GIRLS ON GIRLS!
In the first in a new series of collections from SQ Productions, Velvet Love explores erotic girl on girl love.Stefano Mazzotti provides the outstanding art and Vincenzo Silvestroni provides the prose in this combination of sensuous art and evocative verse.Stefano Mazzotti was completely unknown to me before I saw this collection.I'm not sure how much of his work has been collected previously but he is one supremely talented artist. His women are drop dead gorgeous and if these pieces don't give you at least a tingle you must be on life support.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great read.
This is a very enjoyable book. The main character, Kylie, is charming, cute and funny and being that she just moved to the U.S. from Australia, she has a lot to learn about how things work, which leads to moments of hilarity.I especially enjoyed Julia Roberts, the cat.She is Kylie's companion in the book and is just as much of a character as everyone else. The people that surround Kylie are entertaining in their own way and well developed. The love story just begins to develop near the end of the novel and I can only imagine it's going to steam up in the rest of the series.I am anxiously awaiting to read the rest of them and absolutely recommend this one.I immediately liked the main character, I laughed a lot and I like Claire McNab's writing style.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best ever, now she got it
Claire finally got it in this one. As one of her frequent readers I really enjoyed the latest of her novels. Here she combined action with character and love interest. The love interest should be still more developed since it came too late in this novel (last page), but at least Claire McNab has touched that topic in her latest novel and did not leave it out like in all the Carol Ashton or Denise Cleever novels. Way to go Claire, that looks like a good mix. Continue!

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Sequel with a Twist
'Family Connections' follows the relationship between Diane and Sara during their college years.Sara is working her way through school to become a teacher.Diane is from a wealthy, conservative family that threatens to cut her off financially if she doesn't marry the man they have chosen for her.Even though the women are deeply in love, Diane does her family's bidding and leaves Sara behind.
5-0 out of 5 stars Delightful Story - with lots of Romance and utterly endearing characters
This book is the sequel to the newly re-released 'Connecting Hearts' but I read this one first and was able to follow along easily. This sequel carries on the romance between Denise and Miranda and adds a bitter sweet love story from 1961 between Sara and Diane told in flashback.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly sexy and fun!
I bought this book on a whim and loved it! I would read a story every night and go to sleep happy. No matter how experienced you are, you'll probably be surprised and educated by the stories. I lent it to a straight friend and she was really surprised by what "lesbians do." I recommend it - it was a great read.

5-0 out of 5 stars This novel is a total delight !

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprise! It's not what you expect...
I admit to being a big fan of Karin Kallmaker's writing and have recently been making my way through each book in her entire collection, some for the second or third time. I'm disappointed this one sat on my shelf for so long before I was able to enjoy it.'Paperback Romance' is a great book!As expected, Kallmaker skillfully brings her characters to life and gives them depth and dimensionality. However, this one is a little different than her usual writing.
2-0 out of 5 stars Muddled Menage A Trois
Hearing a lot of good reviews about Ms Kallmaker's books I was looking forward to an exciting read --- but halfway through I was ready to smack both Carolyn and Nick.If I were Alison I would've stayed put in the States and let these two tap dance around each other until they tripped over a clue that life isn't about image and flings -- something Carolyn emphaticatically stated in the beginning of the story.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Enjoy!"
Claire McNab once again treats the reader to a microcosm of Los Angeles through the eyes of intrepid P.I. trainee Kylie Kendall, who's still feeling her way 'round SoCal, bumping into unexpected situations, characters and traffic jams with a style all her own.
5-0 out of 5 stars an excellent quick read
The story with the superb sub-inter office story kept me wanting to read more and more. When I was done the only thing on my mind was when is the next Kylie Kendall mystery due out.......I hope soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another bonzer book for McNab!
Claire McNab has written another brilliant, and brilliantly funny, Kylie Kendall mystery. They're getting better and better! The plot is good, the characters well delineated, the situations delightful, and, in short, this is her best yet!

5-0 out of 5 stars Over the years and over the miles
Can you count the friends who would come to your aid 18 years later from across the country.
5-0 out of 5 stars Romantic, funny, dramatic, sexy - this story is a gem

5-0 out of 5 stars A love story for adults
I have found all of this author's writings to be in entirely different styles for each novel and story. That's quite a talent. This one is nothing like any of her others. It's sort of like a great Lifetime movie (producers take note!) which may sound like an oxymoron, but don't let that deter you. It's one of those 'what might have been' reconsiderations from several years down the road. Should-have-been college sweethearts, unforseen pregnancy, the out part of the equation having no idea that the woman of her heart has also 'gone gay' (but in a most interesting and, initially, shocking, albeit highly erotic, fashion). Read the book. And if you like this one, try SX Meagher's great uber epic "I Found my Heart in San Francisco" or RMB's uberish "Alma Mater" for college age lesbian romance. ... Read more

This is just a sweet old fashioned love story... a lesbian love story that is. I happened upon a hardcover copy in a used bookstore. The cover looked idyllic, pastoral... two ladies dressed in riding habits, surveying the english countryside. It is a story of the enormous risks they took to be together, and the creative life of beauty that they shared until death.I loved the descriptions of their daily lives... how they passionately strove for their own peaceable kingdom. They lived in an eden of their own makng. Please read this book and be inspired by their example to create your own heaven on earth with those you love... ... I loved this book and was sad when it ended.I agree with the reviewer who said this sequel is even better than Cobb Island, which is saying a lot since Cobb Island is excellent.Love these characters, I felt as if they were real people and good friends. If you like steamy romance, lite comedy and a good mystery, then you'll love this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Intrigue! Suspense! Romance!
Dumped by her girlfriend, Hayden Tate exacts her "revenge" and runs off to an island - to a resort she has inherited from an aunt who passed away. There she meets one Adrienne Cangelosi, her deceased aunt's seemingly aloof business partner.
4-0 out of 5 stars Wacky Cross-Genre Romance with some Dangerous Intrigue
When Hayden Tate's aunt Gloria dies and leaves her niece half interest in an island inn in the Bahamas, Hayden is ready for a change. She's ready to leave her lawn and landscaping business behind, especially since her girlfriend has dumped her for a woman who Hayden says looks like a Saints linebacker. Hayden tells us, "I gave that woman the best year and a half of my life, and she did this to me. Not to mention that she took half my wardrobe and most of my CD collection with her when she left" (p. 14). In retaliation, Hayden plays one last naughty trick on the ex by leaving her a special "treat" in her car. (I can still smell the odor of cat excrement.) In her defense Hayden says, "I know what I did was disgusting and childish, but the woman broke my heart. Not to mention she was in possession of my entire Melissa Etheridge collection. That alone was grounds enough" (p. 14).

5-0 out of 5 stars Far from Moon Island
Fulton shows us the depth of her writing.Come to the dark side with Devlin a horror novel author living next door to a set of twins. One of them being telepathic.
5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent read from beginning to end
I thoroughly enjoyed the character development of this novel.A number of readers often express concern when an author separates women into sterotypes. In theory, I have the same problem, so it surprised me when I knew the sterotypes were there and they didn't bother me.
4-0 out of 5 stars Dream of a Book
Jennifer Fulton has written a tantalizing gothic mystery that keeps the pages turning with inspired plot twists and highly sympathetic characters. Her tale of down-on-her-luck horror writer Rowe Devlin's escape from Manhattan to Maine (where she inhabits the haunting and haunted) Dark Harbor Cottage is the kind of personal journey that I love to be taken on by an accomplished author. When you throw in Dark Harbor Cottage's secret, a hot lesbian romance with one (or both?) of the twins next door (one of whom is psychic and who becomes mixed up with the government in a huge way), you have a rollicking good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Recommended
Among the club of lesbian authors who can actually write, this author is one of a small handful whose books feel original. This time she concentrates more on the legal plot than some readers looking for the usual romance-by-numbers might like. But I thought the depth in this area really added to the story and made the characters more real. This is a good story with plenty more to offer than the predictable slumber party before the happy ending formula.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully written
If all books of this genre were this well written, I wouldn't feel the need to throw some of them away. Great writing and a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting on multiple levels
Cameron Abbott?s sophomore novel, ?An inexpressible State of Grace,? is the only novel of hers that I have read so far.I was pleasantly surprised by her writing style.I find, too often, that many lesbian romances lack any other points of interest.Abbott masterfully intertwines four plot lines giving each one enough time and development to stand on its own while allowing them to interact with each other, to form an overall narrative arc through out the story. The differences between plot and story aren?t made in a haphazard way like many immature authors. The montage of scenes expertly paints protagonist Ashleigh Moore?s past over the reader?s perception of the present world she is living in.

1-0 out of 5 stars Trite Feminist Propaganda
This badly written novel utilizes the fantasy of ancient "matriarchies", which probably never existed, and pretends that they were blissfully peaceful places where men never hit their wives or children, unlike our current evil patriarchal blah blah. The Amazon protagonist is from the distant past but practices today's goddess-worshipping faux paganism, even though it was invented by Margaret Murray. Part of the novel is about how the mean patriarchal Greeks destroyed the ancient Amazon civilization from which the protagonist came.
5-0 out of 5 stars Yanks and twists you out of the fog
Opens your eyes to what a farce life is for women and children in the "modern" West. Here's my favorite scene:
3-0 out of 5 stars Trite, but unique concept with some amusing moments
There was something about the writing style of this book that made me feel like I was reading the latest pre-teen novel.I believe Barbara Walker has only written this one fiction and has many well-received non-fiction titles & should probably stick to that genre.

2-0 out of 5 stars SO difficult to get through!
I had high hopes for this book, as it received 5 stars from the other reviews. Even more so, the beginning was exciting and pulled me right in.However, by the time I was 1/3 of the way through the story, I was struggling to stay attached to the story. There is so much potential in this story, but it did the one thing that, as an avid reader, drove me insane: it didn't show me the story, it only told me the story. There were multiple opportunities for story development; instead, the author chose to race through with quick summaries and convoluted conversations to move the story faster than it needed to go. Definitely not one of her better works. I'd love to see a follow-up or remake of the story, and see it done well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rollercoaster Romance with a bit of mysticism thrown in
Wow! Just Wow!Not your typical romance. This story really packs an emotional punch. It starts with such high hopes - then plunges you into sadness, than fills you with hope, than knocks you out again.A really terrific read that you will not put down.At the center of the story is Trust and how important a part it plays in the lives of the characters. The fun part was watching both characters grow and reach fulfillment by opening themselves to trust in each other and themselves.I won't be loaning this book out - I'll be reading this again.Enjoy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Just Gotta Love Heritage
As a rule, I like Marianne K. Martin's writing.Although I liked `Never Ending,' it was a far cry from her usual books.I say this mainly because it isn't as much a romance as a fictional documentary.
5-0 out of 5 stars Versace, Oh, My!
The seduction scene with the Versace dress is worth five stars all by itself. The rest of the story is glitter on that gown!
4-0 out of 5 stars It has everything
"Never Ending" covers everything which could happen in a person's life.
