5-0 out of 5 stars What a Find!
I thoroughly enjoyed Love Under Foot.As a man who loves men's feet, such a collection of erotic foot fiction focused on the male foot was a true treasure to find!Such books are worth their weight in gold! There is something here for every man who enjoys other men's feet and footwear, no matter what your taste in men might be.Well-written and varied, these stories fulfill atrue need for folks who venture into different erotic experiences.

3-0 out of 5 stars Love Under Foot:An Erotic Celebration of Feet
I actually thought it was OK.The good news is that this book offers something for everyone that has a taste for the male foot. When I was reading the stories, I thought...some writers were trying to write for an essay contest. "Hey! We're thinking about compiling a book on gay male foot fetish. Can you write something on the subject?Give it your best shot."While others really wrote with passion and conviction. They had an understanding of the subject, an insider's point of view.Over all, I give the editor and publisher credit for trying to compile this type of book.Bravo to them!

5-0 out of 5 stars My Secret Lust
Well, what can I say...the cover sais it all! I thought it would be a nice collectible for my already creepy set of gay sex books, and to my shock it was more than that. It gives you a sence into the world of the unknown, the odd, and even the never heard of before! I wanted to know more about my fetish, I wanted to read more about it too. You would be surprised how little you can find in book stores and libraries about the fetish for the male foot! To be honest with you...there is nothing unless you're straight and you're into feet of women! So when I saw this book in "Amazon" I just couldn't resist, and well I'm thrilled to say that such material...more than a work of art would be like my identity, IT'S ALL ME! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars More of a limp fish...
By the time of 1993's Meatmen Volume 14, the publisher and several of his better contributors had already parted company, and the cracks were beginning to show; the front and back covers by 'Osze' on this volume were a particular error in judgement, as while you can get away with a certain percentage of duff art inside, slapping mediocrely-traced fanboy sketches on the front of the book will only deter possible readers and browsers.

... from the first 20 years of On Our Backs magazine.
2-0 out of 5 stars On my back: nearly asleep
Although I respect On Our Backs, and read their sister magazine Girlfriends, this anthology just didn't do it for me. The stories were too short, and stopped whenever it got to the "good stuff". Erotica doesn't have to be pornographic, but at least finish the sex scenes!

4-0 out of 5 stars great collection of lesbian erotic short stories
mcclune does a great job of picking anthology-worthy short stories from the issues of on our backs. they don't all pass the 'wet test' in my opinion, but they are still well written for the most part and have intersting/realistic characters. i can't wait for the next one! ... Read more

Editorial Review

While there's no lack of rude, inventive lesbian erotica at the moment, a few specialty interests have been overlooked in the better-known anthologies, among them the sweaty allure of butch-on-butch love. Editor Angela Brown blames the early, corrupting influence of the television show Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars What's with the men?
Don't get me wrong. Most of the stories in this latest lesbian erotica anthology rock hard. Well written and clever, there are several writers within these pages I will be looking for again. But personally, I object to the inclusion of men in a book about lesbians. They have their own anthologies, don't they? What happened to the idea of having a sacred space for women only? (One of the male-written stories is even about rape and how AROUSING it is...need I say more?)And not only are stories by men included, but they each have TWO stories within this volume. NOT ONE of the women writers are granted this honor (unless they are using pen-names) This book could easily have rated 5 stars with me but as it turned out, I simply found it too offensive and insulting to the women writers and lesbians in general. Very disappointing. Hopefully the editor of this book will read this and think twice about including men in the future. Unless, of course, the editor is a man himself, which I wouldn't doubt.

4-0 out of 5 stars Put away your opinions & expectations and enjoy!
"I'm beyond queer, queerer than queer: an authentic, genuine, pasteurized, homogenized 100% perv." says an unnamed butch, in Leslea Newman's story, "A Stone's Throw" one of 19 stories in Set in Stone, the newest anthology of lesbian erotica from Alyson press.Certainly that's what a lot of folks might think of the theme of this anthology. They would be partly correct.Angela Brown, the editor has pulled together a wonderful spectrum of tough, funny, sexy, beautiful butches as well as observations about butches, stone and otherwise, and their attractions to one another. 5-0 out of 5 stars Hot, well-written, original erotica
I just HAD to get a copy of this book. The subject matter alone was enough to pique my interest--and, man, was my interest piqued! As an avid erotica reader, I'm often disappointed by stories that are unoriginal and flat, with 2-D characters and lame dialogue. But this book features original, sexy, well-drawn female characters: a female pirate and her cabin boy (who's really a woman), hard-core punk rockers, brawny biker chicks, SF grunge grrls, an arm wrestler, hunky bodyguards, a [frisky] Middle-Eastern princess... And the sex is totally hot and believable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Welsh on her best!
After reading and enjoying a majority of Lindsay Welsh' available books, Necessary Evil is my winner. The authors way of dealing with the lesbian mistress-submissive relationship covers the whole range, from a gentlestart to a grand final! This gives you a chance to follow the caracters andthe plot more intensively than in other works, where the roles tend to bedefined clearly from the very beginning. This makes this book anextraordinary erotic reading, so for those of you who also love themistress and her darling slavegirl, check this one out! ... Read more

Dominatrix, "slave," hero (NOT heroine), heroine (NOT hero), protector, abuser, warrior, traitor?Nighthawk includes them all--and more.Beneath the simmering sexcapades lies a dark warning:people who objectify other people--who see them as sex objects, as possessions, or as symbols only--cause deep damage to themselves and to their particular societies, cultures, and sub-cultures.4-0 out of 5 stars A First for me......

5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious Erotic Fiction
I bought this collection on the basis of one of Tsui's stories in a Best Lesbian Erotica collection. The stories in "Breathless" aren't always pornographic or smutty, but I find they have all stayed with me.Phrases and images stick with me because of the immediacy of Tsui's writing. The stories (obviously) all deal with erotic subject matter, but the way they do so varies. Tsui writes about the eroticism of sharing food, the poignancy of sensual reminders of a lover after you break up, and other topics. This is a great collection I'd recommend to anyone interested in erotic fiction.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's been years...
Since I picked up a book about lesbian erotica.I was not disapointed.Kitty Tsui is a fine word chef who crafts her stories like a five course meal. Each one to be savored but diffrent flavor sprinkled through out. This "Foodie" left the table full. Bravo Kitty.

1-0 out of 5 stars "Breathless : Erotica" is absolutely a wrong title!
I bought this book because the title caught my eyes, plus everyone in review gave this book 4 or 5 stars. Let me tell you, don't get fool by the title and all the good reviews. The book is soo boring and dull, I felt asleep from reading the first few chapters. The author seems to have a very different idea of EROTICA. If you are looking for a low quality, no plot and dull stories, this might be a right book for you, otherwise stay away from it. It's not worth your time and money. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't disappoint
Editor Pam Keesey has done several anthologies of spooky lesbian stories and this is one of her best. Every single story works as part of a chain to add up to some truly nightmarish, sexy chills.

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughters of darkness
I never imagined myself that I would buy a book of erotic vampire stories but I have. Several years ago I saw Kim Deal reading Pam Keesey's book in the pages of a magazine. I admit I was curious about the book being the huge vampire fan that I am. I try to avoid the more cartoonish, horror vampire novels that plagues the book market (i.e Tanya Huff). I found a copy of the book at a local bookstore and decided to get it, not so much for the titilation of the sexual depictions described in the book but more from a feminist point of view in terms of female empowerment. In the introduction, Pam explores female empowerment through mythology, namely the supernatural as in vampires and other demons. I was tired of reading the same ridiculous cheesy vampire novel where women were usually the helpless victims or the sultry demon. I was more interested in reading stories of female vampires and how they differentiate from their male counterparts. I thought the stories were interesting to say the very least. And they are definitely different. One of the more interesting stories in the book was "Lousiana: 1850" by Jewelle Gomez. This particular story wasn't something I was expected. Normally I am used to reading about vampires who kill without prejudice and without conscience. Gilda was far from any vampire character I have read in any book. She didn't get off on killing people, let alone kill her victims. She merely would take a drink from her victim and leave. "Lilith" is more in tuned with any modern vampire novel where the vampire's intentions is completely sinister. The vampire seduces her victim and vamps her. The one story I didn't enjoy was "Carmilla" which honestly I found to be a complete bore. I have tried to read it in its entirety but I could not muster up the energy to finish the story, let alone get into it. Otherwise I enjoyed the majority of the stories in "Daughters of Darkness" (as well as in "Dark Angels"). If anything, Pam Keesey's books weren't entirely intended for titilation because the stories certainly underline female empowerment or feminism in some sort of way. As a vampire fanatic, I enjoyed Pam's books. They are a big guilty pleasure of mine.

3-0 out of 5 stars TWO GREAT ONES!
Of course, "Carmilla" is the queen of lesbian vampire stories; its subtlety is something to savor. But I must confess, I really loved "O Captain, My Captain."Its sci-fi angle (interstellar travel) is well-researched; its protagonist is a very plausible, likable young woman; and its love scenes are DELICIOUS.These two stories alone make the book worth buying. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
I found this stained, rumpled and crumpled book under the drivers seat of my husbands pickup (what's up with that?); so I didn't really buy it, but I have to say, now having read it, that I would have bought it in the first place--it's udderly fantastic! Some of the stories are short and quick and some are a bit longer(we all know why they are that short or long teehee), but all of them get right to the point of the book--sex. And cowboy lesbian sex at that! Ride 'em cowgirl, Yeehaw! Some of them are so steamy they are sure to get you...you know...and the others, well, they are just so artiscly written it's a pleasure to read. How come all the best writers write erotica?! I may not be a lesbian, but after reading this: things that make you go...hmmmm. I'd better not let my husband see that I have this book, he'll wonder why I keep going down the road to see those women at the stables!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sexxxyyy!
I picked up the book to peruse it a little and wasn't able to put it down! These gals are HOT!Makes me want to be a lesbian...

4-0 out of 5 stars Hot, Wet, and Wicked!
An intriguing theme, and a solid bunch of stories to fill the book. My personal favorites were Shanna Germain's "Western Pleasure", (a tale of two women meeting up at rodeos around the country) which was a gentle tale of longing and maybe moving on, and editor Sacchi Green's "Bull Rider", a story I first read (and loved!) in one of the Best Lesbian Erotica series.Other delights came from Nipper Goodwin, Cheyenne Blue, M. Christian, and Julia Talbot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Destined to be a Classic
This "sequel" to the excellent Coming to Power which appeared in the mid 1990s picks up where Coming to Power left off and gives the reader an idea of how far the woman's leather community has come since the early 1980s and at the same time how far it still must go to gain acceptance outside its own community. It also details how fragmented its own community is, but then again this is true of all parts of the leather community; het, gay, bi, transgendered, and/or lesbian.4-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original
This second "coming to power" book about lesbian SM has a lot of fiction in it and I was disappointed. There are lots of fiction collections of lesbian SM but the first "Coming to Power" was ground breaking because it tackled SM in a straight forward and honest yet controversal way when the debate about SM, lesbians, and feminism was first raging loudly. The stories are great and the articles are wonderful I was just hoping for the same sort of information as the first book.Perhaps the first did so well with communicating its message, that the second could me more varied.

1-0 out of 5 stars it doesn't even deserve a star
This book was terrible!Masturbating with a state of the virgin Mary??The constant references to the "honey pot" and what's with the old lady in the hospital??
5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
This is the most exciting sensual book I've ever read. It's a turn on with every turn of the page.

5-0 out of 5 stars hormonaly delicious
I haven't been turned on so fast and for such a long period of time as I was when I first began reading Eve Locke's The Hooker and the Nun, it IS fantasticly raunchy and its descriptive areas are real, I've never felt so close to a sexual situation as when I read and study, believe it or not I really dote on every word, I just can't say enough about this writer and her talented style of giving us what we have been waiting for for such a long time, I love her. ... While there are some arousing parts to some of these stories, most of them just aren't very interesting. Some of the stories don't make much sense and the characters are silly. If you're looking for some erotica, it's sprinkled here and there, but, if you're looking for good writing and engaging stories, forget this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars Oops! Wrong book :(
I read the A+ review of Cris Newport's new erotica collection in The Brilliant Review. It said the name of the collection was Afterglow: Exotica. I quickly snapped up this book only to find it wasn't the rightone -- I was looking for "1001 Nights: Exotica." I readAfterglow, though, and found it did not stand up to my expectations. Manyof the stories seemed cliched. I wanted something "crackling withenergy" (a quote from TBR) but Afterglow fell a little short ofcrackle. ... Read more
