5-0 out of 5 stars Five stars are simply not enough
I just love this book and highly recommend it. The way the author develops the relationship and draws the characters page after page is just amazing. It is one of those books which you have to read in one session (set a weekend aside for this) and where you hope to see a sequel, because you don't want the story to end. It is not just another easy to read romance or a good Uber book, but a brilliant and interesting read, which gives insight about a special and interesting culture.
5-0 out of 5 stars History in the Making...A Touching Love Story.
D. Jordan Redhawk is a talented writer who doesn't seem to get the credit she deserves.Although she has published few novels, they always seem to be hard to find and in high demand.'Tiopa Ki Lakota' is one such book and I'm ever thankful this newest edition has been published.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Good Read
I just finished "Our Reunion" and found it a very simple love story.I felt like I was reading a personal diary.I found myself wondering if this might be a love that Ms. Watson experienced herself.I hope she continues to write and continue to hone her writing abilities. She has a talent and her continued success is eminent.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very slow read
I was waiting for something but couldn't quite put my finger on what. It never did happen, whatever it was. I have three stars because it is a harmless story that talks about things that can happen in anyone's life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dynamic! Thoroughly Entertaining!
A chance meeting at a class reunion intersects the lives of musician Samantha "Sam" Whitwell and high school track star, Tina Mellekas.Tina, who was on the track team with Sam's sister Lisa, had once been the object of a major crush for Sam. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Delightfully charming romance
This was a delightful story. The title character, the "Keeper of the Piece" is all so human that I can't characterize this so much a fantasy novel as a romance with a fey quality.I really enjoyed that the two main characters are never apart throughout the novel. The reader gets to know them in depth.Gentle humor is laced throughout and the romance is intense and wonderfully written.
5-0 out of 5 stars A fun fantasy story with a lesbian twist
Keeper of the Piece is a fun fantasy story about a quirky and reclusive nature lover, named Tatum Belan, and a researcher sent to her for help to find an elusive plant. The adventure to find this rare plant with miraculous healing powers turns into a race against time and the oncoming of winter on the mountain. The journey changes both women's lives in unexpected ways, as journeys often do. This is one of those stories that Joseph Campbell would have classified as "the hero's journey."It is a classic and timeless tale with a contemporary openness to alternate ways of living and loving. It is very readable and a lot of fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hopefully not the last
This is a little novel that opens up a whole world. In the best tradition of Tolkein, Davis creates a world of her own where some people can understand plants, some can totally relate to the emotions of others and a very few are gifted with the ability to talk to animals.Davis introduces you to this world through the efforts of two Adepts.Lorrah is a doctor who can feel the potential for medical cures in plants. She is searching for a remarkable flower mentioned in a long forgotten journal that promises to cure many ailments. She needs the help of Tate, who closely guards the secret that she is an even rarer Adept who can talk to and command animals. The novel isn't very long, but contains a lot of adventure and romance. If you like fantasy and a quick read, you'll love this book. One can only hope that Davis will continue to tell more about this world in later books. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars PulledIn
I find the best books are the one which pull you in during the first chapter. Then you're a goner.
5-0 out of 5 stars Taking you to the edge
Graskey pulls the reader quickly into the story. Although the main character is not your typical, likeable character, the reader is brought along for the intense ride. The story is well written, with engaging characters and great dialogue. This one is hard to put down, it leaves you breathless wanting to go night riding. Not your typical lesbian fiction/romance - it's a deliciously written study of honor and friendships.

3-0 out of 5 stars Boldly hilarious
If you've ever wanted to get an insider's look of a soap opera and be captivated by a lesbian romance, then look no further than ALL THE BOLD DAYS OF MY RESTLESS LIFE, the laugh-out loud novel that takes place on a daytime drama. Author Sharon Stone concocts a wild ride with main character Bailey Connors, the head writer on the soap billed with the same name as the book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
I enjoyed this book very much and will keep it in my collection to read again some day. Buy it...you'll like it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Zany to say the least
If there was ever a book that fit the definition of zany, this one is it.Very few things make me laugh out loud, but I found myself in hysterics at the closing scenes.I'm not a fan of soap operas, but I do appreciate their spoofs.Bailey is the head writer for a show called All the Bold Days of My Restless Life.Every horrible cliche that applies to this type of show is attached to this one. What can you say about a show that has a main character named Aruba, her mother is Myrtle Beach and her stepsister is Bermuda Schwartz?Bailey's private life could be a feature story on her soap. After her girlfriend dumps her, her friend Peter arranges the three blind dates from hell. The first is with a woman who has a midnight online sex show and likes to use her dates as her "special guests."The second regales Bailey with details about why she has six children and how that has convinced her to start dating women. The last is a cop who gets drunk and starts shooting rats as they walk down the street, causing an encounter with some of New York City's finest. And then there is the fact that the two major stars of the show spend all of their time trying to do each other in professionally.Yes, it's light reading, not great literature, but sometimes it's just fun to read that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Variety
Lois Cloarec Hart's Assorted Flavours: A Collection of Lesbian Short Stories is a delightful and engaging read that illustrates the author's talent and range. The ten stories are well written with enough variety for any reader who enjoys terrific fiction.
5-0 out of 5 stars Truly delightful collection of stories
A wonderful writer - and this is an excellent collection of stories, some short and others much longer but all of them were wonderful to read. You will read '9 minutes' and than read it again and again just to make sure you didn't miss a word.I loved 'Lost and Found',I've read that a couple times too.'The Lion and the Lamb' was a super story and the ending came as a nice surprise.I can't wait for more books from this super author. 'Postscript' and 'Thursday's Child' were wonderful and heartwarming. Keep them both to read for a rainy day!

Editorial Review

It doesn't do this play justice to say that much of the action takes place in a hospital room around the bed of a comatose woman. On the other hand, it may explain why critics have been so impressed. From unpromising material--standard urban settings, stilted exchanges, missed cues, private jokes, half-finished sentences--Diana Son has crafted a subtle, moving drama about vulnerability and risk. When Callie, a twentysomething New York traffic reporter, promises to take on a cat owned by Sara, "some friend of an old friend of someone," she arranges to leave quickly after Sara drops off the cat so that she doesn't get drawn into a dull evening with a stranger. Callie is an expert at avoiding conflict, which serves her well in the city. Sara, on the other hand, has willingly left her job at a Quaker school in St. Louis to teach third-graders in the Bronx. Although both are "straight" women, they circle each other warily, nursing an unspoken attraction. The playwright's choice to shuttle back and forth in time, between the hospital room and police station and the early days of Callie and Sara's friendship, lends a bittersweet quality to even their lightest exchanges, allowing us to wonder, along with the two women, whether the violent outcome of their single kiss makes it a bad idea. 5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite.
Diano Son captures this touching store told in scenes that jump from present to past. Every other scene tells the present and past of two women who fall in love without the knowledge of their sexuality. When one is beat and injured by a madman in the city, they must confront their families with their sexuality. One, too unstable to be on her own, needs the other. The story is touching, melodic and wonderful.

This is an excelent exploration of love and what constitutes it, and a painful reminder of hate--specifically homophobia. The message here is one worth hearing, and the telling of it is skilled and a pleasure to read. Highly Recommended. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll
This is a very deep love story. The two main characters are from very different backgrounds, but find balance in each other.Sonny, the intelligent younger sister of the manager of the band Warlord, realizes she is a lesbian as she falls in love with Torrin.Torrin, who comes from a world of sexual and drug abuse, uses and disposes of women like toilet paper.Sonny must convince Torrin she deserves to be loved.
4-0 out of 5 stars Drugs! Sex! Rock n Roll!
The band - Warlord - is looking for a new guitar player. Enter the most fantastic guitarist they've ever run across. She sings, she writes and she plays the guitar like a lover. The only problem is - not the fact that she is female - but that she is heavy into drugs, and "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" sex with every woman who comes along, and has an attitude of "if you talk the talk, you had better be able to walk the walk!" Hanging around and trying to be her friend, is the younger sister of the drummer - jailbait and a definite no-no as far as a relationship goes.As time passes, one begins to experience new feelings of love and sexuality. What happens when these feelings are focused on thoughts of a "seduction"?Exactly who is seducing whom becomes the age-old question. Will it be flight or fight when a secret from one's past begins to surface? And is the possibility of newfound love strong enough to withstand the impact?5-0 out of 5 stars A Winner!
Tiopa Ki Lakota is one of my all-time favorite novels, making my gleeful acquisition of Warlord Metal a no-brainer. I couldn't wait. When one of your favorite authors writes another book, you have HIGH expectations. Turns out, the two stories couldn't be more different. Read more
