5-0 out of 5 stars Hunter's Pursuit is as Good as the Genre Get
Hunter is an enigma - an assasin by trade, but with a gentleness that is enchanting. While hunting for food, she witnesses a car accident. She saves the car's inhabitant. She later finds out that someone has put a million-dollar contract out on her.She has no idea who will come after her, why the contract was put on her, or who her mysterious visitor is.
4-0 out of 5 stars It Came Highly Recommended
I picked up Hunter's Pursuit by Kim Baldwin while in Provincetown for Women's Week in October. I got a personal recommendation from Radclyffe herself. She said, "If you like action/adventure, Kim is our Gerri Hill." Well, I like Hill very much, so I was excited to read this book by Baldwin, especially because of the personal recommendation.
5-0 out of 5 stars Suspense! Drama! Mystery!
Assassin Katarzyna "Kat" Demetrious, code name Hunter, rescues a woman seriously injured and stuck in a wrecked car in the snow.Who is this woman? Where did she come from? And why would she have been driving in such a remote area? Could she be one of the assassins Kat has been told is on her trail? Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an exceptional book
Do you like mystery, suspense or adventure?Do you like romance?Do you like a story that sounds like it stepped off of the television screen or out of the newspapers because it's so topical?Do you like a book that keeps you so engrossed you have to keep turning pages to find out what happens next?If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then Talon is the book for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Flames of Love with a Twist...
This reader was pleasantly surprised with the quality of writing delivered by Gina Dartt in `Unexpected Sparks,' a first-time novel that shows a maturity not often found from first-time authors. Not generally a big fan of mysteries, I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author wove a budding romance with a murder investigation... especially because neither of the protagonists are police detectives.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous novel - Wonderful romance and endearing characters
One of the best romances I have ever read. Like a breath of fresh air. Here is a writer who knows how to write. You never feel like you are reading a work of fiction. You are immediately engrossed by the first chapter. The words flow together and I wished it didn't have to end. You'll love the characters as if they were your friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars A price worth paying for the Cost of this Commitment
This was an absolute jewel of a find. I purchased part one of the series due to a recomendation by Amazon, they could not have been more on target. This book, part two just shows that love is definetly everlasting. I found the story line to be believeable, and being a hopeless romantic, it touched me deeply. The author leaves no stone unturned, giving you mistery, suspense, drama and love all bound in a neat little package all the while leaving room for an on going story. The love senes are hot, and the suspense is action packed, and what makes it perfect is the main characters could be people you know. Looking forward to the next book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rollercoaster Quality
The pros... I like the story lines presented by Lynn Ames in the Kate/Jay series. They are interesting, keep the reader's attention, and present factual places and things. The characters of Kate and Jay are likable and lead interesting, yet almost unbelievable, lives. The romance is central to the story and is a great compliment to the intrigue presented throughout the book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful! Dramatic!
Katherine "Kate" Kyle and Jamison "Jay" Parker are two strong, dynamic women first introduced to readers in the dramatic book, The Price of Fame.As they try to recover from Kate's unexpected departure from her news anchor position, Jay and Kate unfortunately find themselves, once again, embroiled in a situation fraught with danger, suspicion and intrigue.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK! FULL OF LOVE AND ROMANCE!
I loved this book! Loved the dialogue between the two main characters Jay and Kate andliked the minor characters Fred, Peter and Barbara. I'm an animal person and I like how the characters related to Fred. I wish I had a love like Jay and Kate's, they were so romantic! I like that they had a past together and they believe in true love and finding that special someone. I read this book in 1 day. I just ordered the sequel 'Cost of Commitment' yesterday and when I realized it was a three part series, I ordered 'the Value of Valor' today!

5-0 out of 5 stars Review of "The Price of Fame" by Cheri Rosenberg
Lynn Ames writes in her acknowledgements, "I have always maintained that the best fiction contains elements of truth; as a reader, it's that believability that keeps you turning the pages." The author, a Golden Crown Literary Society Finalist for The Price of Fame, has exceeded her goals in the first installment of the action-packed romance of news anchor Katherine "Kate" Kyle and Time magazine reporter Jamison "Jay" Parker. The Price of Fame is not only convincing but it is hard to put down.
4-0 out of 5 stars No Price Too HighFor True Uber Love
Katherine Kyle (Xena character) is a small town news celebrity who hits the big time after skillfully covering a terrorist attack at the New York Governor's mansion. While on the air, she is spotted by Jamison Parker(Gabby), a journalist with whom Kate had several pleutonic encounters while in college.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful multi-faceted story!
D.C. is an excellent storyteller who doesn't bog the reader down with extraneous descriptiveness. She is able to fully describe settings and put you in the middle of the scene without the unnescessary fluff that so many authors fill their books with. Her stories are fun, exciting, romantic, suspenseful, and captivating all at the same time. Awesome dialogue with laugh-out-loud comebacks and one-liners!

5-0 out of 5 stars Imperceptibly great!
I couldn't put this book down until I finished it!D.C.'s writing style and colorful descriptions paint the most vivid setting in one's mind - I felt like I was there with the characters.D.C. also takes the time to develop the charactes so well that you feel as if you know them yourself. For her first book, D.C. leaves me waiting on pins and needles for her next book.Check out her website at dcelmore.com to see what's up and coming!

5-0 out of 5 stars Review of "Imperceptible DANGER" by Cheri
In D. C. Elmore's "Imperceptible DANGER," we meet world-renowned photographer Tristin Dobbs who thinks nothing of taking risks in her professional life; she even photographs sharks at close range. The thirty-three year old is adept at surviving in the wild and taking on dangerous assignments to further her career, but when it comes to matters of the heart, Tristin is much more cautious. She is attractive to both men and women and according to those who know her; she could have her pick of dates. If that's true, then why is she single?

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent book
an excellent novel - even more so given it's Perkinson's first... I love this book, and read it in two sittings... and in truth, I continue to reread many sections... it has a good story, great characters, humor, sadness, a sweet love story, and a good message... Perkinson's great writing draws the reader into her character's lives and emotions... you can expect to laugh and cry as the story unfolds for Vera, Frankie, and their friends... Vera's Still Point is a compelling and moving story which illustrates how one person can set the ripples in motion for change and instills its readers with the hope that love can prevail over prejudice and hatred... Vera's lesson is one we hopefully all learn - be true to yourself and share it with the world, whether you are understood and accepted or not... I'm anxiously awaiting her next novel, Piper's Someday, due out in 2007.

5-0 out of 5 stars With characters who won't leave you alone.....
The story is like a savory creme brulee, which you will find you are wolfing down like a bowl of ice cream.
3-0 out of 5 stars Strange Combination of Feel-good Drama and Scandal
This book was a strange combination of many different things for me.It's scandalous, as others have said.Lots of risqué topics covered that will most likely make you slightly uncomfortable - and details are not spared. It's somewhat generic as well, in that you can pinpoint easily from the start as you meet each character, how their stories will unfold - and most are over-the-top characteurs more than characters. It's also engaging. You will find yourself hooked much like a Lifetime movie will do.You sit down knowing it's full of B-list or washed up actors, the score will be virtually non-existant, direction amateur and the story line something out of a Danielle Steele novel - however you don't change the channel and you bite your nails wondering if Jamie will overcome her annoxeria and if Margo will tell John that little John, Jr is not his son...This book is the similar.
5-0 out of 5 stars The tie that binds
I'm not going to go over the plot of the novel since others have already done that. Having said that, let me also say that Mr. Yates' storytelling style is the best I have encountered in a long time. There were several points in the novel where I stopped and said, "Wait a minute. I gotta read that again. I can't believe he [Yates] did that," simply because he kept dropping little bombshells. Meanwhile, from the very beginning, Mr. Yates lights a fuse that burns through the entire novel as he reveals the true nature of Nathan's and Tommy's relationship. I'm not referring to the most obvious aspect of their relationship (which you can read about yourself), but to Tommy's longstanding ability to exert a positive influence on Nathan's behavior by both word and deed, in spite of appearing to be just a pretty-boy who doesn't give much thought to the possible consequences of his actions. At the same time, Nathan seems to have little or no ability to influence Tommy's behavior, no matter how hard he tries or how morally superior he believes himself to be.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Tremendous Breath of Fresh Air
What an absolute joy it is to pick up a book from a first-time published author, especially when the book is a good as `Forever Found.'With many new authors, the writing can be immature and somewhat disjointed. However, Meyer delivers a quality of writing one would expect from a seasoned professional and I ever so excited by it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I purchased this because I really enjoyed Wild Rock. However, this isn't as good.I expected the first (cover) story to be funny and imaginative--it wasn't.Kuro is not some kind of shapechanger. He's really a dog who fell in love with a human. His thoughts and dialogue are PRIMITIVE, and there is almost no conversation between them. The relationship between the two characters is just sex.The art is lovely, but not enough to carry the "story."
4-0 out of 5 stars A great collection.
Man's Best Friend is perfect for a quick yaoi fix. You can flick to any of the six short stories and find a simple, steamy read.
5-0 out of 5 stars OMG I LOVE THIS ONE BUY IT!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Vaughan's Political Sci-Fi Continues To Impress
In the next five issues of Ex Machina, Brian K. Vaughan's story of a superhero-turned-mayor of New York City, Mitchell Hundred's administration has to contend with more hotbed political issues as well as some "unnatural" occurreneces that are connected to the device that gave Hundred his powers.
5-0 out of 5 stars More Vaughan please!
So I ventured into the second volume of the Ex Machina and, man, this book was good! Just alone Mr. Vaughan's views on politics and then add in some hints about where his powers came from and the crazed maniac killer butchering people in the subways, man, this book is good! Add on Harris' artwork, which is just getting even better, and his amazing attention to detail, and great capturing of people's expressions and reactions, man, this book is good! Vaughan's writing is tight and fun and revolting and inspiring and, man, this book is good!
4-0 out of 5 stars Brian K. Vaughan Rocks!
I started reading Y: The Last Man about two years ago and have been hooked on this guy's writing since. I've been trying to pick up as much of his work as I can find and this is one of the most satisfying ones I've come across. It presents a fairly unique situation, as far as comics go at least, involving a superhero who decided to move into politics.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can you be all things to all people?
This book, part of the "Bella by Night" series (which means it rates high on the erotica scale), is a book of short series connected by an address: 18th and Castro. All the scenarios are different. I found some of the stories to be very good; others silly and the rest kinky.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not What You'd Expect...
I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into when I ordered this book. Some friends said it was great, others said it was terrible. In fact, I didn't even know it was a series of inter-related stories until I started reading. Not generally a fan of anthologies or short stories, I have to admit to thoroughly enjoying this newest offering from Kallmaker.
4-0 out of 5 stars A good collection
It's Halloween night in San Francisco and the Castro area is rocking with celebrations.Outrageous costumes and noisy parties are the themes of the night as Suze and Amy sneak to the top of a building to observe the festivities. These two are used periodically to provide a weak story line that loosely ties the stories together as they peer into the lives of other people. The stories are set up so that each one takes place in each of the different apartments in the building at 18th & Castro.Something in the story from one apartment connects to the story in another apartment. The stories vary in their intensity and quality and not all of them are classically erotic. There are stories of lost love rediscovered, old friends who realize a new relationship, and lust in place of love. The most poignant story is about a woman who kissed her partner good-bye thinking she would see her in the evening, only to have the partner die during the day. This is a pleasant collection. It's perfect for reading at night before you go to bed or when you have a short period before you need to do something, although some of the stories are steamy and you might want to be careful where you read them. You can read a story, put it down and come back later not having to worry about previous plot points. If you're looking for erotica, some of the stories are heavy in it, but not all of them and this provides a good variety.Short story collections are not usually as appealing to this reviewer because it is more difficult to get involved in a story, but this one doesn't fit the usual mold and therefore was better to read.18th & Castro is recommended for those who like a good blush and some heat to a story.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent reading experience
Well written, thought provoking and entertaining. This book is all of these and more. The characters are elegantly drawn against the gritty realities of 1978 suburbia. To be a gay teenager in such an atmosphere makes you "different," and Soehnlein creates a sympathetic portrait of a teenager coming to realize the extent of his own worth.I look forward to Soehnlein's next book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I guess I am rather new to gay fiction and picked this one up before moving overseas for an assignment. I half expected it to be very stereotypical, campy and cheezy...in the end I ended up passing it along to someone else to read as I found it to really reach out and touch me on some deeper plane. I dont know why - just did.In any case really enjoyed the story and style in which it was written.Another book i had picked up in the same genre doesnt even compare to this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not a single false note in coming-of-age novel
K.M. Soehnlein did not strike a single false note for me in his coming-of-age novel. The non-linear nature of many conversations (which still communicate much to both the listeners AND the speakers), the guilt and excitement that a person feels when he continues to experience life during tragic circumstances, the way a series of bold decisions suddenly add up to a life spinning wildly out of control: all of these ring true to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars This One is to Savor
This the 17th outing for Kallmaker, and she brings us something new. This is the story of Syrah, born with grapes in her DNA.And Toni, a businesswoman who works for stockholders and courts and essentially tells companies how to restructure their businesses and then walks away. When Toni is asked to look at Syrah's family vineyard, she discovers that while she likes Syrah's father, he is a poor businessman. What will Toni find when she goes through the books?
5-0 out of 5 stars Love at Second Sight
A thoughtful friend gave me this latest Karin Kallmaker novel for Christmas - signed no less! - and it was a true delight to read. Pride & Prejudice is one of those books I know I *ought* to have read, but I haven't. Since it's apparently the birthplace of the romance novel - and the blueprint from which Just Like That was developed - I think I have to read it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad but i wouldn't recommend it
Primarily and most improtantly, homophobia wasn't not the true reason behind shaping my ture opinion about this book which i coudn't bear readingtill the end. Although Alex Sanchez does a great job in revealing an introspection of the three protagonists Nelson, Jason, and Kyle including their feelings about their homosexuality and their caring about the view from which society would regard them. Instead of bringing forth the disliked subject of homophobia in American society, Sanchez unreasonably talks sublty about this important issues by narrating the story of Jason's coming out. It is surprrising and hardly believable to accept the courtesy by which Jason's schoolmates regarded his coming out and that their role-model is homosexual. In actual life, it's rarely if never oucurring that a large amount of people would easily accept among them someone who according to religion and common rule, is somehow different. In addition to the unusal attitude of the town people, Jason't being interviewed and acclaimed by many for having the courage of coming out is an extreme prasing of being homosexual. Again, i am not a homophobe and i can prove this by expressing how much i liked Rainbow Boys in talking about a negative thing (homophobia) in American history and in it's valuale message to encourage youth in general and homosexuals in particular to accept their fauts and face society.

5-0 out of 5 stars There Are No Surprises Here
Nelson, Kyle and Jason whom we met in RAINBOW BOYS are back again, pretty much as we knew them. Well, Nelson has gone from dying his hair lemon-lime to "flame-blue," an appropriate color since he is certainly the flamer of these three. He is the outrageous one who never had a chance of being in anybody's closet, even if he had wanted to. Kyle is still the shy one on the swim team who can "pass" if left alone. Jason, of course, is the high school jock equally attractive to both young men and women.
3-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better......
Rainbow Boys is a waaaay better book than this.I think the thing that hit me the most was how different this book was from the first book.It had almost no cussing or sexual jokes which were abundant in the first one. That small detail was important because it made it realistic. To have highschool kids not cussing or making the crude jokes was lame because all kids do. In Rainbow Boys Nelson made some of the funniest jokes and said the best lines in this book he comes off as dumb and whiney instead of whiney but cute.It makes no sense why he would want to have sex so badly with Jeremy and that shouldnt have taken up the whole book.Nelson could obviously get another guy and especially after he was afraid he had got HIV.The way he didn't take getting it seriously was dumb too.He was funny and interesting in the first book what happened??

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Music!
Love's Melody Lost is one of the most romantic books I have ever read! It is Radclyffe at her best...again! This is a must read and one that I will read again. You will fall in love with these characters instantly. Graham Yardley is strong, very independent, beautiful, and has lost more than her eyesight. Her soul is guarded and her music is gone. Anna is a woman learning who she really is and what she truly desires most. She learns she must fight for what she wants. She has a way of bring life to Yardley Manor and to its owner. Will it be enough? Helen the devoted caretaker and mother figure to Graham...she can see what the two women can't. Will Helen's protectiveness for Graham help her and will her new friendship with Anna be enough to convince the young woman that Graham is a changed woman since she came to Yardley?
